Dental Care
Phoenix Health Plan understands the importance of regular dental care for both children adults.
As of October 2010 AHCCCS has directed Phoenix Health Plan to make changes to adult benefits.
As a result, certain medical care, including dental services and emergency dental services, are no longer available for adults 21 years and older.
| PHP recommends children see a dentist at least once a year.

Remember your child's teeth are meant to last a lifetime. They should brush their teeth every day to remove germs that cause tooth decay and gum problems. They should also floss their teeth. Healthy teeth start with brushing, but brushing does not get rid of all the germs that cause decay. Some germs will stay on the teeth unless your child flosses.
Fluoride is important for healthy teeth and gums. Fluoride is a mineral that helps to make teeth strong. Ask your child's dentist about fluoride treatments available in the dental office.
